New Community Bible Fellowship is a growing, multi-generational church that is making impact in Northeast Ohio and throughout the world. We have a membership of over 3000 people, with more than 1000 people engaging our ministry on a week-to-week basis. We are touching people for Christ through our Sunday in person and live stream worship services, our over 70 small groups, our community outreach and service initiative Make Cleveland Better and a host of other specialized ministries, conferences and events. The Evangelism and Outreach Pastor will assist the Executive Pastor by providing director level leadership and oversight for New Community’s outreach strategies and initiatives and will passionately lead all aspects of evangelism, witnessing and community outreach.
EVANGELISM & OUTREACH PASTOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership and day to day oversight for all evangelism and outreach initiatives and programs Assist the Senior Pastor in the development of a comprehensive outreach evangelism and discipleship strategy. Ignite a passion for local, global and cross-cultural outreach, equipping New Community’s members to be actively involved in fulfilling the Great Commission.
- Develop and implement “Beyond the Walls” evangelism strategies to take the Gospel into the community. Follow-up with unsaved and newly saved attendees at NCBF Services and events. Provide guidance and materials for discipleship.
- Preach Sunday Sermons as assigned by the senior pastor (1-3 times per year).
- Perform or facilitate weddings and funerals as assigned by the senior pastor.
- Sunday service responsibilities as assigned (e.g. announcements, offering moments, Lord's Supper/Communion, prayer, altar call).
- Assist with baptisms, baby dedications, new member’s installation and teaching new member’s classes.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS:
- Seminary Credentials, preferably MDiv, but BA in related ministry field required.
- Must be able to effectively teach the word of God (1 Timothy 3:2).
- Both EOP and spouse must be available for spending time in Bible Study, training and team building with NCBF leadership.
- Strong, professional and mature inter-personal skills (both verbal and in writing). Must have the ability to communicate persuasively and compassionately.
- Administrative abilities are key. Able to organize work and maintain appropriate work standards for the goal of accomplishing ministry assignments in a way that honors both God and people.
- Should be detail oriented and decisive with the ability to organize and coordinate work, set priorities, and meet deadlines
- Ability to be extremely flexible in an environment that is subject to many spur of the moment changes. The EOP must be creative, bring high energy, hardworking, and have the ability to motivate others. Initiative, perseverance, follow-through and “whatever it takes” attitudes are very important.
- High level of competence and proficiency with all Microsoft Office features.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and team development skills
- As with all assignments at New Community, the EOP serves in the best interest of New Community Bible Fellowship. This person must have an open, submitted and understanding spirit, should the Senior Pastor or Elders determine a need for change or reassignment.
